You can check a route exists or has not changed using the Traceroute-via IP service agent. You can also test the route is NOT going via a particular IP with the Traceroute-not test.
The String to match in step 2 is the router or device you want to go via and if matched the test is successful. If the route changes and the address is not found then the agent will go critical and an alert can be generated.
